How your details are handled
The sign-up page says your contact information will never be sold or shared, and is used only to run this program. This page is that promise written out — including the one place where other people in the program can see your number, which you should know about before you decide whether to give it.
What I collect
Only what you type into the sign-up form:
- your name
- your email address
- your mobile number, if you choose to give it — that field is optional, and the next section says what it is for
- whether you are a student or a business professional
That is everything. There is no other form on this site, and nothing is collected from you in the background.
What I use it for
Running the program. Sending you what you need to start, telling you when a cohort begins, and replying when you write to me.
Two other things, and they are the reason the phone number is there at all.
The cohort group chat. Each cohort gets a group chat, so you can reach the people you are learning alongside — when you are stuck, when you want a second opinion, when two of you want to work on something together. It is one of the better parts of the program, and it only works if people can actually reach each other.
I will send you an invitation to it. I will not add you to it. Joining is your decision, and you can take your time over it.
Things worth reading. I come across articles and other AI material that are genuinely useful, and I pass them on by email and sometimes by text. Not often, and nothing I would not want to receive myself.
You can take the program without either one. The group chat you simply do not join. For the messages, tell me and I will stop them — and nothing else about your place in the program changes.
What I do not do with it
I do not sell it. I do not give it to anyone outside the program. I do not add you to anyone else's list. There is no advertising on this site and nobody pays me to put anything in front of you.
The exception is the group chat above, and it is worth being plain about. If you accept the invitation, everyone else in the chat can see your number, the same way you can see theirs. That is what a group chat is — and it is exactly why I send an invitation instead of adding people to it. Ignore the invitation and nothing happens. You will not miss any of the coursework, and nobody is told.
Who else touches it
A few services are needed to run any of this. Each holds your details only to do its own job, and none of them is given the data for their own purposes.
- Tally runs the sign-up form and stores what you submit.
- Google — submissions are copied into a spreadsheet in my Google Drive, and the program's email runs on Google Workspace.
- Netlify hosts this website. Like every web host, its servers keep request logs, which include visitors' IP addresses.
- Google Fonts — this page loads two typefaces from Google's font service, which means your browser makes a request to Google when the page opens. That is true of the great majority of websites, and it is worth knowing rather than leaving unsaid.
What this site does not do
This list is shorter than it usually is, and that is deliberate.
- No analytics. Nothing is installed. I cannot tell you how many people visited this page, because I do not know.
- No tracking pixels, no advertising, no third-party marketing tags.
- No cookies set by this page.
- No profile of you beyond the four things listed above.
How long I keep it
While you are involved with the program, and afterwards for as long as it is useful to be able to tell you about a future cohort. If that stops being something you want, the paragraph below is how you end it.
Getting it removed
Email me and I will delete it — no reason needed and no process to go through. You can also ask what I hold about you and I will tell you.
Young people
This program is built for college students and working adults. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has signed up, write to me at the address above and I will remove the record.
If this changes
I will update this page and change the date at the foot of it. If a change matters to anyone already on the list, I will email rather than rely on you noticing.
